100% Made in Italy The Dalle Piane Cashmere Philosophy Our products are strictly 100% Made in Italy. Local production allows us to better supervise the quality of the product we go to offer and to establish trusting relationships with our suppliers. We try not to produce more than we really need, through a just-in-time production system focused on reducing overproduction as much as possible. This allows us to reduce raw material waste and generate less production waste. The raw material Cashmere production has four basic steps: harvesting, sorting, shearing, and spinning. Harvesting is done by hand combing, during the natural seasonal moulting of the animal in late spring. Sorting and grading of the hair is also always done by hand. The fiber is then washed to remove dirt, grease and any remaining plant matter from the collection, the fiber is then is ready to be made into yarn Weaving The production of knitted fabric, called knitting, is carried out using straight knitting machines. The resulting fabrics are allowed to rest for a day so that they regain their natural indentation as a result of tension and elongation due to the weaving process. The garment making-up The making-up in which the various parts of the pattern are assembled: front, back, sleeves, edges and collars. We use tools such as sewing machines, cut and sew, and linking machines, which require highly skilled staff to ensure an excellent level of quality of the garments made. Washing and Ironing All our garments are washed through a phase called "fulling" which allows us to give the garment the usual softness typical of cashmere. The final ironing completes and enhances all the previous operations. The garment is bagged and is ready to be sold.
