I'm a single-origin pour-over 16:1 ratio kind of girl. Black coffee only. Special thermal coffee mugs. Whole beans only that are roasted in the past 30 days, I grind my beans daily as I use them because that's how coffee should be.I'm a stuck up snob with coffee and I drink almost exclusively African origins.I'll pay out the wazoo for good coffee.How did i end up going against all my snobbery and buying a pre ground flavored coffee whose origins are a mystery?Because i need decaf in the afternoons.i need caffeine in the morning but if i want to sleep i must stop caffeine intake by 2p. I tried loads of decaf keeping my preferences. Decaf just doesn't taste the same. Even the best beans aren't good in decaf.The only flavor i like in coffee is hazelnut. I never add anything to my coffee. I only drink it black. Basically i decided that i could *try* a hazelnut decaf to cover the decaf bean flavor but get my coffee fix.i went against my instincts and got this. i had low hopes. Cheap. pre ground. When was it roasted? Blah ok but it was $9.I was surprised. I'm drinking this black as usual. The coffee flavor is good and the hazelnut compliments it nicely. The weird indescribable decaf flavor isn't there. The hazelnut masks it nicely.This is my go-to for my pm coffee needs. i still do a 16:1 pour over ratio.Give it a try. If my ridiculously high standards can be satisfied with this, yours can too.
